Green pass at school, the EducaLibera Valle d’Aosta committee writes to the Region

‘We are far from No Vax and Trojan, we are for the freedom of choice’

Do not apply the Covid-19 green certification rules in schools in the Aosta Valley. This is the request that the Education and Freedom Valle d’Aosta – EducaLibera committee formalizes in a communication sent to the top management of the Region in view of the start of the school year.

The committee – which announces that it is made up of 250 people including teachers, Ata staff and educators – explains that it is close “to all those who, with serious and precise arguments, feed the democratic debate by distancing themselves from fundamentalist positions defined as” No Vax “( deniers of all emergency situations) and “Trojans” (those who use the Covid emergency to dismantle the democratic system and civil rights). We are for the freedom of choice, whatever it may be, in compliance with European law, national law and the Special Statute of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta ”, says the EducaLibera committee.

The letter sent to the Region signed by the lawyer Dario Frassy recalls the European rules on free movement and vaccination obligations and a resolution approved by the Council of Europe in January 2021 “in which, among other things, it has expressly excluded that States can make compulsory vaccination against COVID (point 7.3.1) and has also prohibited its use to discriminate against workers or anyone who decides not to use it (point 7.3.2) ». At the moment in Italy for school staff without a green pass, the suspension of the employment relationship and salary is triggered.

According to the Committee, the Region should intervene by exploiting the expertise in the field of school staff in order to “not apply” the certification obligations in schools in the Aosta Valley.
