Green pass, the Fvg amateur football world appreciates the government’s tightening: “Only the vaccinated may play”

UDINE. The decree approved on Thursday evening, July 22, by the Council of Ministers intervenes directly also at a sporting level and primarily in football – the main discipline in our country – both at national and regional level.

The Government text, in fact, is very clear and foresees how “as of August 6, only those with one of the Covid-19 green certifications are allowed in the white zone” to access “sports events and competitions”.

And if at the same time the maximum threshold of spectators has been increased for outdoor matches to 50% – with a maximum of 5,000 fans in the white area and 2,000 500 in the yellow one – it is clear how, in two weeks, athletes and the public will be able to play or attend a football match (as well as any other competitive discipline) only if they are vaccinated at least in the first dose, have recovered from Covid for less than six months or are able to present the result of a negative swab carried out within 48 hours from the event.

This legislation should also be applied to the world of amateur football which, in our latitudes, involves about 300 clubs for a total of over 30,000 members, including first teams and youth sectors.

After the last two years characterized by many adversities and problems, however, the leaders of the Italian ball look favorably on the squeeze decided by Mario Draghi.

«I was and I remain of the idea that we should imitate the English model – says Ermes Canciani, regional president of the Football Association -. I find it a completely correct choice because getting vaccinated is a duty towards oneself and others ».

Canciani, in detail, refers to the decision taken by Football Association English – that is, the Football Federation of the Channel – which has established that all players and staff members of the twenty teams of the Premier League they must have completed the vaccination cycle in order to take the field.

The number one of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Football Federation, therefore, analyzing the local situation, hopes that the expansion of the use of the Green pass will push players and coaches of regional amateurs to book their administration.

Perhaps, however, it will not be so automatic considered as the appeal launched by the Football Federation, with the aim of organizing a sort of vax-day for amateurs, only 44 members responded positively.

«It is true – Canciani says -, but it is equally true that in these days I am contacting the clubs that are preparing to restart training and the presidents claim that at least three quarters of the athletes have been immunized.

It is a good starting point towards coverage that, I hope, can become total. As the Football Association we will organize other awareness-raising meetings to show how the vaccine represents the only way to finally turn the page starting, and above all ending regularly, next season ». –
