This is one of the important factors that affect fertility willingness.
In this sense, whether it is to provide cash subsidies or loan concessions for the purchase of houses for marriageable and child-friendly people, or to solve the housing problem of this group by increasing the affordable housing, it will curb the crowding effect of housing problems on the willingness to bear children to a certain extent. Extending from this, how to “step forward” so that people who participate in the development and construction of a city but have no housing can also enjoy basic and equal public services, including fertility and education, should be the goal and direction of the policy. .
In the process of giving birth to a child, the cost of housing is undoubtedly the most explicit and best calculated, and more hidden and incalculable costs are scattered around “her”.
For a woman, having a child brings not only physical pain or risk of losing shape, but also reduced income and limited career development. Because at the moment when fine parenting has become a general election, mothers have to devote a lot of time and energy to accompany a child to grow up. It is also under this logic that some people believe that housing subsidies and loan concessions are difficult to leverage or even change a family to a large extent – to be precise, women’s reproductive decisions. The development of childcare and universal education has indeed reduced the cost of women’s parenting objectively, but if it is “true”, there is still some deviation from planning and governance from the perspective of reducing the cost of women’s parenting.
In the formulation and discussion of public policy, we need to introduce more, rather than downplay, a gender perspective.
