Guidelines on PA interoperability: Interaction Patterns updated

by admin

The Agency for Digital Italy has updated the operational document “Interaction Patterns”. Guidelines on the technical interoperability of Public Administrations.

The Guidelines identify the technologies and standards that Public Administrations must take into consideration when creating their IT systems, in order to allow the information and IT coordination of data between central, regional and local administrations, as well as between them and the European Union systems, with managers of public services and private entities.

Based on the needs expressed by a Public Administration in reference to the Public Administration Interoperability Model (ModI), and at the conclusion of the consultation phase, with the Determination no. 300/2023 AgID has approved the update of the Operational Document – Interaction Patterns of the Guidelines on the technical interoperability of Public Administrations.

Patterns always updated

The Interaction Pattern is a document that defines the ways in which a user and a provider can interact via API.

Given the variability over time of the needs of administrations and enabling technologies, and also considering the incremental nature of ModI, the list of interaction patterns it is not intended to be exhaustive. In fact, in the event that Public Administrations are unable to follow up on the specific needs of the interoperability domains in which they are involved (for example due to the lack of adequate interoperability patterns and/or profiles), must report the circumstance to AgIDdefining a need and/or formulating a proposal.

The Agency, as in this case, launches a public consultation table to make changes or updates to the interoperability patterns or profiles, which are then formally introduced into the ModI.
