Her son Gabriele Defilippi was convicted of the crime and she was acquitted. The Supreme Court confirmed the appeal sentence
CASTELLAMONTE. The sentence of Caterina Abbattista for complicity in fraud against Gloria Rosboch, the teacher from Castellamonte found lifeless in a landfill in the countryside near her home in February 2016, has become definitive.
The Supreme Court rejected the appeal thus confirming the sentence pronounced by the Court of Appeal of Turin in 2020. According to the reconstruction of the accusation, the teacher was the victim of a scam for 187 thousand euros by one of his former students, Gabriele Defilippi , son of Abbattista (nurse at the Ivrea hospital). Then, according to the investigators, Rosboch was killed.
The Abbattista was recognized as a stranger to the crime – for which her son was convicted – but, according to the Turin judges, she had a role in the fraud affair.
