He climbs on his bike towards the refuge and collapses to the ground: he dies of an illness

TORVISCOSA. He was cycling up to the shelter when he collapsed to the ground due to an illness and died.

Around 2 pm today, Saturday 20 November, the Alpine Rescue of the Treviso Prealps was alerted to intervene in support of the helicopter rescue, sent along the dirt road that climbs to the Alpine Artillery Refuge V on the Col Visentin for a man taken ill.

The victim is GA, 69, from Torviscosa, who was riding a mountain bike in company. In fact, he suddenly felt ill and collapsed on the ground, a kilometer above Forcella Zoppè.

Since the Treviso emergency helicopter did not approach due to the presence of fog, the mission was entrusted to the Suem helicopter ambulance in Pieve di Cadore.

Unfortunately, once they landed on the spot and attempted the resuscitation maneuvers, the medical team was only left to note the death of the man, on the spot also a team of rescuers. The body was entrusted to the Carabinieri of Cison di Valmarino and to the hearse.
