The last farewell in the church of Turrisa, the village where he lived
SEDEGLIANO. The community of Sedegliano is preparing to bid farewell to Gabriele Moletta, the 19-year-old from Turrida di Sedegliano, who died in a car accident that occurred at around 11.30pm on Thursday in via Massimo D’Azeglio in Gradisca. The funeral will be celebrated in the parish church of Turrida on Tuesday, at 3.30 pm.
The young man, who was traveling alone in his Alfa Romeo Mito, coming from Codroipo towards Sedegliano, after a slight curve suddenly hit two parked cars and a pole and then crashed into the wooden door and the wall of a home. The impact was violent and for the boy there was nothing to do: the rescues are all in vain. His death leaves the family in the deepest grief in Turrida, well known, as a point of reference for the town as her mother Marina Tomadini manages the bar in the square and the adjoining grocery store. His father Renato is a firefighter on duty at the Gemona detachment. The news shocked the small community when they woke up on Friday morning.
Gabriele worked in the construction company of his maternal uncle Gianluca Tomadini in Vidulis di Dignano. An occupation to which he was dedicating himself with seriousness and commitment after having attended the Linussio scientific high school in Codroipo.
Gabriele led a normal life for a boy of his age, he went out in the evening with friends, he had many, a good company, he went with them to play soccer games, to the gym or they met just to be together. «He was a very quiet boy – says his uncle – we wonder how it could have happened and the reason for this cruel fate. He never got hurt, not even when he had the bike and rode it diligently without ever exceeding. There are no words to describe the mood of the mother and father who saw the carabinieri arriving home in the middle of the night bringing them the tragic news ».
The young man is described as a kind boy, polite to everyone, at work he had a good relationship with his colleagues and with his uncle, he had played football in the ranks of Sedegliano and Mereto. A “golden boy” as his brother Mattia recalled. “A serious and concrete boy – he continued – who knew how to do many things”.
The mayor of Sedegliano Dino Giacomuzzi and the municipal administration cling to the family and express, also on behalf of the entire community, their closeness to relatives and friends affected by this immense tragedy.
