He died of an illness while traveling along the Alpe Adria cycle path

RETURN. A seventy-one-year-old Austrian from Spittal an der Drau died in the late morning of Friday 17 June due to cardiac arrest. It happened approximately at the height of the hamlet of Roveredo (north of it) along the Alpe Adria cycle path, which the old man was cycling along with others.

The Alpine Rescue of Moggio Udinese intervened together with the Carabinieri and the regional helicopter rescue. The medical staff of the air ambulance was disembarked on the spot, but attempts to revive the cyclist were in vain.

And an Alpine Rescue technician from the Udine station also intervened on the Tagliamento, near the Venzone bridge, where a German boy who was kayaking the river with a companion had lost consciousness.

When he arrived on the spot, the young man was already better and was entrusted to the care of the ambulance doctors. The Fire Brigade also took part in the rescue operation.
