The search dogs Tea of the fire brigade and Jago of the Alpine Rescue showed a certain interest in an area near the Angelini refuge and it is precisely there that rescuers are concentrating, also with the help of two firefighters helicopters and the Financial police and drones with thermal imaging camera. The base camp was organized in Pralongo, next to the Valzoldana sports field, from where the firefighters let it be known that the times may not be short.
Starting on Thursday morning, August 26, to take a four-hour loop that starts from Pralongo and Forno di Zoldo, climbs to Colcever and arrives at the Baita Angelini bivouac at 1,680 meters in the Tamer – San Sebastiano Group, Lugato was expected home for lunch.
His wife waited in vain all afternoon, then at 5pm she decided to alert the emergency car. The Val di Zoldo Alpine Rescue teams were then transported to altitude by the Suem di Pieve di Cadore helicopter, which also flew over the area, but without success. In the evening, 15 firefighters from the Belluno command and the volunteers from Zoldo and Longarone joined the search. With them also two infrared drones, one from the Venice fire brigade and the other from Rovigo, were flown in the area. In the evening, the firefighters also requested the support of the dog units.
The rescue teams concentrated their searches in the area that the man indicated to his wife before leaving for the excursion and they also tried to restrict the area of intervention by going back, through the telephone operator, to the cell hooked up by the mobile phone. of the 39-year-old, who at times sounds unnecessarily free. The Baita Angelini bivouac area is often a destination for trips even by the CAI because of the beautiful landscapes that can be enjoyed from up there. Baita Angelini overlooks the Vach lake and the Val Barance, a limpid stream runs along one side and flows slowly, continuing towards the valley in a thundering waterfall. It rests on a spur of rock, a privileged terrace that comes out of the wood, surrounded by a very green clearing, with a unique view of the Spiz di Mezzodì. One of the most beautiful itineraries (the Baita can be reached by various paths) starts from the Duran Pass, skirting the San Sebastiano.
Around 9 pm, then, the searches became a little more complicated due to the arrival of the rain and with it the temperatures also lowered. They are resumed at the first light of dawn.
This morning the helicopter of the Air Service Center, which has an agreement with the Dolomiti Bellunesi Alpine Rescue, brought the Val di Zoldo Alpine Rescue teams to altitude, along the ring route that from Pralongo climbs to Colcerver and arrives at the Baita Angelini shelter. .
