DOOR CLOSURE. A skier of foreign nationality was injured while descending with a companion on the channel called Huda Paliza (or Palica, following the Slovenian spelling), a very steep channel on the northern side of the Jôf di Montasio massif.
The call to Nue112 came after 3.30 pm on Sunday 23 January: the skier fell for a few tens of meters, according to his travel companion.
The Sores activated the Alpine Rescue station in Cave del Predil, the rescuers of the Sella Nevea Financial Police and the regional helicopter rescue.
The latter, however, was engaged in another intervention, which is why, while waiting for it to free itself, the Civil Protection helicopter was mobilized for a patrol from above with some rescuers on board.
