The 84-year-old man had fallen into the woods. Rescuers took him to the hospital for examination
FELTRE. The misadventure of an elderly man who fell in the woods on Thursday while going mushrooming not far from home in Col Lungo, between Vellai and Case Bianche, ended well.
The 84-year-old man had left his home with the intention of taking a walk and finding mushrooms. Despite the falling of darkness, however, he did not return and at 7.30 pm the mobilization of rescuers was triggered. The firefighters of the city detachment, together with the volunteer firefighters of Feltre, the men of the mountain rescue and the carabinieri gathered at the White Houses to start the research after having divided the area into search areas.
The teams were leaving for the assigned areas when a family member of the missing elderly person spotted him in the vegetation near the house. The old man, who had slipped and fallen heavily during his mushroom outing, was cold and dazed by the accident but in good health.
The rescuers took him out of the woods and then entrusted him to the ambulance doctors: the elderly man, as a precaution, was taken to the emergency room of Santa Maria del Prato, where he was subjected to the necessary checks.
