CLAUZETTO. A dream, a challenge, an adventure but also an opportunity to make the loss of work become an opportunity, to travel around Italy on foot, backpack on your shoulder, driven by faith and the desire to make new acquaintances.

Protagonist of the trip Hernan Guillermo Righetti, born in 1978, a San Marino citizen who grew up in Argentina and has long since returned to his family’s country of origin. Always fascinated by wandering through woods and paths, he has seen fit to take back his time and adapt to the rhythms of nature to discover secondary roads, meet communities, meet people.

Hernan is not new to experiences of this kind: in 2014 he traveled the approximately 800 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, in 2016 the 190 kilometers of the Camino di San Francesco, from the Sanctuary of La Verna to Assisi and in 2020 the Via Lauretana, from Assisi to Loreto crossing the most evocative landscapes of Umbria and Marche.

A few weeks ago the decision to go further. Left without work due to the pandemic, Hernan, a tour operator by profession, decided to transform the layoffs into a long period of leave, to fulfill a dream he had been cultivating for years: walking the fascinating paths of the Italian peninsula. An incredible adventure: «Since I was a child, in my Argentine country house, I had a dream, that is to return to Italy, to the homeland of my grandparents. I am a lover of walks and villages and I have therefore decided to follow different paths. This year I stayed in Italy ». “I left San Marino on June 3 and have already traveled three regions” underlines Hernan, who daily updates his Facebook and Instagram profiles with words and images of the places and people he met.

A journey in stages that has affected Friuli Venezia Giulia since 21 June: “I arrived in the Pordenone area from Treviso on 21 June, then I moved to San Vito al Tagliamento, from here to Codroipo, Talmassons, San Giorgio di Nogaro up to Marano, Aquileia, Grado, Monfalcone, Trieste, Gorizia, Cividale, Udine, San Daniele and Lestans. On Thursday I arrived in Spilimbergo, climbing successively to Anduins and Clauzetto ». «In Spilimbergo I visited Palazzo Tadea» says Hernan, thanking «the kind Giorgia and Claudio for the visit, Donatella from Pro Spilimbergo, Michela for the stamp of my pilgrim’s card and Natasha for having exchanged a few words in the town hall». A “thank you” went to Liliana and Loretta (“Meet me on the street, for the bottle of water they offered me in Castelnovo”), as well as to Veronica, her husband and her father Luciano from the Alla Posta hotel in Anduins (” For the welcome “). Thanks also to Don Italico “for the hospitality offered in the rectory, making me feel like one of the family, and for giving me the opportunity to discover the relic of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus in Clauzetto”. Yesterday the restart, direction Longarone.
