INTERNATIONAL (special envoy) A vehicle with a Paraguayan license plate suffered a traffic accident in the Corrientes area, Argentina. Later, it was discovered that he was carrying more than 200 kilos of marijuana inside.

Troops belonging to Squadron 57 “Santo Tomé” were alerted by personnel from the Corrientes Police about a vehicle that was abandoned on Route 40, about 20 kilometers from the Carlos Pellegrini neighborhood.

When they went to the site to carry out the verification, they found that it was a car with Paraguayan plates that, apparently, had suffered a traffic accident or mechanical failure, so it could no longer continue on its way.

Inside it, large packages were seen occupying its cabin and giving off a strong smell similar to that of marijuana, the report from the Misiones Online portal mentions. As a result, he was transferred to the police base.

Once there, a more thorough inspection was carried out and it was confirmed that, in fact, these were loaves of marijuana that were being transported in the vehicle with Paraguayan plates, totaling 263,110 kilos of the drug, distributed in 263 packages.

This was confirmed through chemical field tests carried out on the samples, which showed positive results for “cannabis sativa”, according to the report.

It is worth mentioning that police personnel also managed to arrest the alleged driver of the vehicle. This is a man of Paraguayan nationality who was found walking on the side of the road, a few meters from the vehicle in question.

The subject – who lacked documentation – stated that he worked on a nearby farm, although he could not provide details about his location, name or further information, which increased the doubts of those involved. As a result, he was delayed.
