Healthcare personnel under stress in Friulian hospitals, the trade unions’ request to the company: “Hundreds of hires are needed immediately”

Despite the emergency, the number of employees dropped in three years. The medical departments are in crisis

UDINE. In jargon it is called burnout. Anglicism that in Italian needs a few more words to be translated effectively: emotional exhaustion syndrome related to work stress.

According to the unions’ complaint, the employees of the Central Friuli Healthcare Company suffer from it more and more often: they are less and less, increasingly under pressure in the departments that have to deal with the pandemic emergency. “Since the Covid emergency began, health professionals have been on the front line to tackle the epidemic, exposed not only to the risk of infection, but also to overload of work and emotional tension.
