Heart attack while jogging, fifty years old saved by the Cardiology of Vittorio Veneto

TREVISO. A fifty-year-old was struck by cardiac arrest on Sunday 25 April while jogging in Vittorio Veneto, along the Meschio cycle and pedestrian path.

The man, first rescued by a passer-by and then by 118, was transported by helicopter rescue to the Conegliano Cardiology Department.

At Santa Maria dei Battuti the patient was immediately subjected to coronary angiography which revealed the occlusion of a coronary artery (acute myocardial infarction), which must be immediately reopened through the use of a stent. All this occurred within an hour of time.

The surgery was carried out by Dr. Gerlando Preti and the hemodynamics nursing team that performs 24-hour service at the Conegliano Cardiology Department directed by Dr. Roberto Mantovan.

“Currently the patient is still in a reserved prognosis hospitalized in Coronary Unit, but shows clear signs of improvement – says Dr. Mantovan -. The precocity of such a complex intervention is crucial to save people’s lives “.
