Heavy fog along the coast of Fujian leads to suspension of passenger ferry routes

Today, foggy weather continues along the coast of Fujian, and the Fujian Provincial Meteorological Observatory continues to issue fog warnings. Affected by heavy fog, many passenger ferry routes along the coast have been suspended.

This morning, the visibility in Ningde Sansha Bay, Fuzhou Luoyuan Bay, Putian Nanri Waterway, Quanzhou Jinshang Bay, and other sea areas was less than 500 meters. Heavy foggy weather has adverse effects on ship navigation operations. In order to ensure the safety of maritime traffic, the Fujian Maritime Department will successively conduct inspections of Ningde Sansha Bay, Fuzhou Luoyuan Bay, Putian Nanri Waterway, Quanzhou Jinshang Bay, etc. starting from 7:00 on the 21st. Temporary traffic control measures have been adopted in the sea area, and ship entry and exit operations have been suspended. Affected by heavy fog, as of 12:00, a total of 19 passenger ferry routes along the coast of Fujian have been suspended, including two “small three links” passenger routes from Fuzhou Mawei to Matsu and Huangqi to Matsu.

The Fujian Maritime Safety Department continues to broadcast heavy fog weather information and safety reminders to ships, and maritime law enforcement officers strengthen on-site patrol inspections in key sea areas to ensure safe and orderly maritime traffic. The Fujian maritime department is paying close attention to the fog situation and will resume port production in a timely manner after sea visibility improves.
