An online video showed that at about 4:36 pm on March 20, a group of cyclists were waiting for the traffic light. A few seconds later, just after the group of people started, a white car suddenly rushed from the rear to the non-motorized lane at high speed, and many passers-by pushing bicycles and electric bicycles were hit and flew into the air. At about 6 pm on the same day, the staff of the emergency department of the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Engineering University said that the hospital had treated 2 injured persons in the accident, and one of them was seriously injured and was being rescued. The staff of Handan Orthopaedic Hospital said that their hospital has treated 7 people in the accident, and 1 of them has died.
This vicious incident has attracted the attention of a large number of Weibo netizens. Some netizens said in a thread that the disaster came from the sky, it was too miserable! Surveillance showed that the driver should have been driving on a non-motorized lane. Don’t know if it’s intentional revenge on society.
At about 6:30 pm on the 20th, the staff of the Handan Municipal Government said that it was not yet possible to determine whether the driver had been drinking and driving.
The Handan police report said 14 people had been injured at the scene of the accident. As of 9:17 p.m. on the 20th, Lu media reported that four people had been killed in the accident.
