Emelec I present Hernan Torres like its new technical director for the next twelve months.
The 62-year-old Colombian strategist was announced this Thursday morning, June 8, 2023, at a press conference at the George Capwell Stadium.
The former Deportes Tolima coach arrives to replace the Argentine Miguel Rondelli.
The blue board formally announced the termination of Rondelli’s contract “by mutual agreement” on Tuesday.

Torres said he was very pleased and happy to have been hired by a “institution as big as Emelec is”.
“Emelec is a big challenge. We arrived with the hope of becoming champions”, pointed out Torres.
He also stated that he has followed the blue team in their last two games: the Astillero classic, which they won 3-1, and the match against Guarani for the Copa Sudamericana, which they drew 1-1.
“There are good players, on the right foot, fast. We hope to be able to develop all that football power for the good of Emelec”, he indicated.
Regarding his demands, he said that he seeks to have a “high intensity” team and that he always “go out and propose.”
He pointed out that his is practical, trying to get the players to receive the message, understanding what he wants to convey and express, he assured.
The Colombian coach will be accompanied by Alejandro Guzmán, physical trainer, and Jairo Sarta, goalkeeper trainer.
