CONEGLIANO. “Collaboration with young people was fundamental. The point of view of young people who imagine their future is fundamental. As an Association we must absolutely strengthen the generational pact, understand young people as much as possible in planning the future. Thanks to UniSmart for the proposal to participate in this project “.

With these words Giuliano Advantages, Director of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene spoke today, November 17 at CIRVE (Interdepartmental Center for Research in Viticulture and Enology) in Conegliano, at the presentation of the project “Ecomuseo delle Hills of Prosecco di Conegliano and Valdobbiadene “, created by a group of young people from the Contamination Lab Veneto course (C_Lab) of the University of Padua which, now in its fourth edition, allows young talents, whether they are university students, graduate students and recent graduates , to get in touch with the realities of the territory and to touch firsthand the innovation needs that distinguish it.

The youngsters, divided into groups, actively work on multidisciplinary projects, called “challenges”, for the creation of innovative services and solutions for companies and the territory. Among the challenges posed in 2021 also the one promoted by the Association of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene which asked the participants to work on a specific theme: “How the biodiversity of the vineyard ecosystem contributes to the preservation and enhancement of the territory and which repercussions in economic, environmental and social terms on the entire Unesco Site? “.

The solution identified by the group composed of Matilde Bonollo, Valeria Boscolo Nale, Davide Giacomin, Mariasole Gobbo, Fabio Magnavita, Giada Veltri and Viviana Sartori was to propose the creation of an Ecomuseum able both to combine the museum proposal present in the area and to facilitate the visit of tourists and to promote environmental sustainability. “The idea of the ecomuseum – explains Mariasole Gobbo, C-Labber and spokesperson of the working group – was born after a careful analysis of the museum offer and the activities aimed at tourism in the Hills: we understood that we did not have to build something new, but create a network between existing resources. The ecomuseum enhances the territory and the people who populate it, making them part of a community project aimed at both social and environmental sustainability. In this way, the Hills will become a model of sustainability that can be exported all over the world “. Through the creation of community maps and the implementation of the paths already traced through the use of QR-codes to integrate gamification techniques along the way, the project aims on the one hand to attract the visitor’s interest, encouraging engagement and loyalty, and on the other hand to monitor the flow of tourists in the area.

“I had the pleasure – comments Riccardo Capolla, UniSMART Project Manager – University of Padua Foundation and tutor of the work team – of collaborating with a highly motivated group that accepted the Association’s challenge from the very beginning. During the six months of the project they worked hard to analyze the territory of the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene and identify solutions capable of demonstrating the commitment of the inhabitants to environmental sustainability and the attentive welcome of visitors. All this was possible thanks to teamwork and the heterogeneity of the backgrounds of the young talents involved, which made it possible to enhance scientific and social skills. In fact, interdisciplinarity is the basis for the continuation of the path that the students have started “. “For the Association – concludes the councilor Silvia Mion, contact person for the project together with Ludovico Giustiniani – it was very stimulating to take part in the project. We launched a difficult challenge that was accepted with enthusiasm and curiosity by the students. The work they have produced is thorough, reasoned and contains valuable insights that can be developed in the future. For our part, we have tried to make ourselves available to young people by providing information, insights and feedback to better target the work. We believe that this type of collaboration is fundamental for the growth and development of our territory and the involvement of young people, a crucial node to make them protagonists and not just spectators and users of the territory that surrounds them. “
