Hospitalizations, colors, do-it-yourself swabs: Regions in pressing to open the endemic phase

by admin

In the coming weeks, move from the emergency phase to that of coexistence with the virus, officially opening the so-called “endemic” phase, with the maximum simplification of the rules on Covid.

The Government slows down in the face of contagions that even if they seem to have passed the peak are still very high, but the pressure coming from the Regions is getting stronger and so a technical table will be opened with the Governors to arrive at new rules.

On the table the farewell to the color system, but also the recount of hospitalizations excluding patients who, even if positive for Covid, are in hospital for other reasons, but also a new definition of “case” with the distinction between positive asymptomatic and sick and then the reduction of quarantines always for asymptomatic positives up to the do-it-yourself use of tampons, a road just opened by Emilia.

Speranza: “The table is open to study new rules”

“It is clear that in the next few weeks we will have to open a discussion, especially with the Regions, who have written to us: in the next few hours we will convene a technical table to also promptly verify the proposals that have been made on their part, to address this further phase, which seems objectively different from the previous ones “, explained the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, thus opening up to the comparison with the Regions, but remembering how we still are “in a moment that is not easy, let’s face the truth with great frankness: the numbers of infected people are very very high but thanks to vaccines hospitalizations do not correspond compared to the past”.

“We are at a peak – continued Speranza – and the hope is that in the next few days there will be further cooling of the curve, of which we have already seen some very first signs”.
