EBOLI – Six million funds, available in the ASL budget, are likely to vanish into thin air. The money was intended for the purchase of electro-medical equipment. Three hospitals that should benefit from it: Eboli, Battipaglia and Roccadaspide. These are the three hospitals that make up the first level Goddess in the Sele and Calore plain. With those funds, in 2021, the healthcare offer could be relaunched. More technology, more precise tests, shorter diagnosis times. Six million euros never used. Is it the fault of the bureaucracy? «No, here there is a lack of planning regarding the purchase of equipment by the management of the Dea ‘. To support him, with numbers and documents in hand, is the deputy mayor of Roccadaspide, Girolamo Auricchio. The available and unspent sums amount to 5,843,897 euros, of which 4,104,897 residuals in 2020. In practice, 2,100,397 would not have been spent, although available, for the Eboli hospital, 3,174,500 for the hospital of Battipaglia and 669,000 for the Roccadaspide hospital.
The risk, as Auricchio himself explained, is that these unused funds are destined for other hospitals as they are deemed unnecessary by those who lead the three hospitals. «This is one of the many inefficiencies on the part of the management of the First Level Goddess, inefficiencies that we have been underlining for some time. I hope that the ASL Director General, Mario Iervolino, can appoint an inspector to shed some light on the matter. Since the start of the Dea, in December 2018, there has been no programming. It is also unacceptable because the head physicians of the three hospitals promptly make requests for optimal equipment ». Auricchio’s controversy over the lack of programming has a specific target: the director of the Goddess, Mario Minervini.
“The lack of purchases for the three hospitals is a serious matter. The hospitals equipped with optimal electro-medical devices could guarantee a better health offer to citizens. The situation must be resolved immediately and urgently, just think that the Eboli hospital currently does not have the authorization to operate, that there have been episodes of unification of the departments due to lack of space and that no initiative has ever been taken to carry out the project concerning the Piana del Sele Single Hospital which included the hospitals of Eboli and Battipaglia.
The Dea currently lacks important departments such as Oncology, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery and Rehabilitation. There was no fulfillment on the part of the Direction of the Goddess not even in order to adapt the Eboli presidency to the legislation referred to in the resolution of the regional council on the minimum structural and technological requirements “concluded Auricchio in the hope that, in a short time, those of duty can give valid and decisive answers on what has been reported. During a webinair, Auricchio accused Minervini of reading incorrect data on the Roccadaspide hospital and on the regional regulations in force.
