New step in the five-year plan of Smeralda Holding which focuses on 120 million investments for its ultra-luxury hotels

PORTO CERVO. We were there, we are there and we will be. Completing investments of 120 million euros and making our 5-star pearls even more attractive. Starting with the brightest one, the Cala di Volpe hotel, where 15.3 million are invested this year. Investments that give new impetus to the largest industry in the area, tourism. Smeralda Holding does not say it precisely with these words. But there is this in the press release released yesterday with the point on the progress of the five-year plan for the Costa Smeralda in view of the 2021 tourist season. It can also be read as an indirect response to those – the Municipality of Arzachena – ask the holding company that head to the Qatar Investment Authority more attention to the repercussions on the territory. «Our investment plan – says Mario Ferraro, CEO of Smeralda Holding – has the objective of repositioning our tourist proposition making it contemporary and competitive by increasing the number, exclusivity and diversification of services. The Costa Smeralda has the potential to become a destination that can aspire to any type of target in the luxury segment. Families, children, sports, wellness, will gradually have a range of dedicated services in an increasingly sustainable context, which will allow us over time to develop programs that are not purely summer “. Ferraro adds that the industrial plan must proceed “with even greater determination precisely to counter and overcome the negative perception caused by the pandemic”. And, again: “Our spirit of renewal must serve as a reference model for the entire Costa Smeralda tourism sector, instilling the necessary confidence in the future which is fundamental to prepare together for the reconstruction of the next seasons”. By May, explains Smeralda Holding, the third restyling phase of the Cala di Volpe, the most glamorous hotel on the coast, will be completed. Those who are still undecided about where to go on holiday should know that the 4BI & Associés architecture studio of Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille took care of “the design of an additional 7 rooms, corridors and all the restaurants of the hotel, from the grill to the iconic poolside barbecue, plus a new gourmet space dedicated to the new Beefbar restaurant and the creation of the soft refurbishment of 12 rooms, with a style designed specifically to preserve the DNA of the original design of the famous Jacques Couelle that made the Cala di Volpe unique and celebrated all over the world “. The Dordoni Architetti studio will also give the old wing a new look. The Hotel Cervo will also be renovated in the common areas. So far, says Smeralda Holding, 46.5 million euros have been invested. By 2023 the group will complete the five-year plan (another 60 million) with the completion of the renovations of the Hotel Cervo, the Pitrizza, the Romazzino, and with the conversion of the Cervo Tennis Club, intended for young people, millennials and generation Z. So , while we await news on the announced (and now less safe) arrivals of Rosewood and Delano, the certainty is that the Costa Smeralda, Aga Khan or not, is and wants to remain one of the places of choice for global luxury tourism.
