Noise pollution produced by human activities disturbs life in the marine environment. In the Adriatic Sea, where the traffic of goods is increasingly intense, the noise of ships interrupts the communication of dolphins, tuna and turtles, as well as interfering with their ability to search for food and orient themselves.
The Soundscape project, involving Italy and Croatia, has created a map of underwater noise in the Adriatic, with the aim of monitoring the situation and identifying the most affected areas that need to be protected.
