How the colors of the regions change: Italy is yellow, but perhaps all white by June

by admin

Italy from Monday 24 May will wake up with only one color: yellow. Also there Valle d’Aostain fact, the last orange region, will pass into the range with fewer restrictions. But the constant decline in infections, reinforced by the increase in vaccination coverage, has triggered a virtuous circle that could bring almost the whole country into the white band by June. With three regions (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia) who already have the credentials for the promotion from May 31st. And three more (Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria) on pole for the transition from 7 June.

A destination, that of the white zone, particularly coveted by the governors, also in view of the summer season: there is no curfew (which according to the national law should only be abolished on 21 June) and everything is open: only the rules of conduct apply. (template, spacings).

The new monitoring

A premise. The monitoring on Friday 21 May changes from usual. It will be carried out for the first time both with the new assessment system based on the incidence of infections and hospital admissions, and on the old one (transmission index Rt and overall risk based on 21 parameters). But the substance is the same. The Italian regions are currently all in the yellow band. Both on the basis of the new criteria (between 50 and 150 new cases), and on the basis of the old ones (Rt below 1 and low or moderate risk). With six that currently have numbers from the white zone (the parameter to be respected is: less than 50 new cases per week every 100 thousand inhabitants). It is about Molise (21), Sardinia (26), Friuli Venezia Giulia (29), Abruzzo (44), Liguria (42) e Veneto (48)

Friuli, Sardinia and Molise are the first regions in the white band

Of these, however, only the first three can aspire to promotion from May 31st. Indeed, the parameter must be respected for three consecutive weeks. Molise, Sardinia, Friuli Venezia Giulia are in second place. Abruzzo, Liguria and Veneto (if the data are confirmed) still at the first. If there are no hitches, the switch will take place on June 7th.

The trend of the other regions

However, it should be noted that the downward trend in infections affects all regions. Only Basilicata (106), Campania (103) and Valle d’Aosta (114) in fact have more than 100 new weekly cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. And regions such as Umbria (52), Emilia Romagna (70), Lombardy (67), Lazio (65). If the trend continues, the technicians expect Italy to be all white by the end of June. Provided that the Indian variant (more transmissible than the English one) remains under control.
