Party and government leaders of Hunan Province hold discussions with academicians and experts to seek common innovation and development |
On June 26, according to the arrangement of the 24th Annual Conference of China Association for Science and Technology, Hunan provincial party and government leaders had a discussion with academicians and experts in the field of science and technology. Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, and Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Governor, attended and delivered speeches. Zhang Yuzhuo, Secretary of the Party Group of the China Association for Science and Technology and Vice Chairman in charge of daily work, Xu Yanhao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the China Association for Science and Technology, and Zhang Guihua, a member of the Party Group and Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhu Guoxian, Deputy Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee.
In order to prepare for this symposium, the China Association for Science and Technology organized a high-end research group led by academicians and experts to conduct field research, 10 national societies and relevant provincial societies in Hunan, more than 200 industry experts, 36 departments directly under Hunan Province and 13 The city and state actively linked, and organized senior academicians and experts in various fields to go to the front lines in Hunan, focusing on innovation and development, industrial transformation and upgrading, major scientific and technological innovation projects, and technical needs of key enterprises in Hunan, focusing on advanced manufacturing, seed industry, non-ferrous industry, and green development. Conduct high-level special research and report on major issues in key areas such as Beidou, Beidou applications, and medical health.
At the meeting, academicians Wang Huaimin, Luo Xiwen, Yang Huayong, Xie Zaiku, Wan Jianmin, Chai Liyuan, Liao Xiangke, Yang Huanming, Mu Rongping, and Li Ping exchanged and reported the research results of the Hunan project they presided over.
Wan Gang highly appreciated the research results of academicians and experts serving Hunan, and fully affirmed the achievements of Hunan’s economic and social development in recent years, especially scientific and technological innovation. Combining the views of academicians and experts, he hopes that Hunan will improve the integrity of the industrial chain, increase the efforts to tackle key industrial core technologies and cultivate leading enterprises, further optimize the industrial ecological environment, and promote the deep integration of the industrial chain, supply chain and value chain. It is necessary to speed up the pace of transformation and upgrading, use scientific and technological strength to make up for short plates and forge long plates, continue to promote the innovation and development of advantageous industries such as Hunan equipment manufacturing, rail transit, and Beidou, and cultivate new advantages in international competition. It is necessary to cultivate characteristic agricultural industries and promote rural revitalization. Based on the foundation and advantageous conditions of Hunan’s agricultural science and technology innovation, efforts should be made to build modern seed industry, smart agricultural machinery, green and low-carbon agriculture, and promote the revitalization of rural industries in Hunan Province with scientific and technological innovation.
Wan Gang emphasized that the China Association for Science and Technology should expand the breadth and depth of political leadership and political absorption, build a high-level scientific and technological innovation think tank, gather the wisdom of the vast number of scientific and technological workers, and actively serve the overall situation of the party and the country, as well as regional economic and social development. It is necessary to establish and improve the normalization mechanism for serving regional development, build a collaborative linkage mechanism between academic think tanks, university think tanks, and regional think tanks, and form a “demand library”, “talent library”, “project library” and “achievement library” to promote the deep integration of science and technology and economy. It is necessary to strengthen the condensed results, promote the transformation of research resources into decision-making consultation resources, and effectively translate the suggestions of academicians and experts into good recipes for promoting scientific and technological progress and innovative strategies for innovation-driven development in Hunan. The China Association for Science and Technology will continue to take advantage of its extensive contacts with scientific and technological workers.
