‘It’s a journey back in time,’ said the victim of the theft
(ANSA) – CARLANTINO, NOVEMBER 18 – “It’s like going back in time”. So a 50-year-old employee from Salerno told the carabinieri in Celenza Valfortore (Foggia), when they contacted him to inform him that he had found his ‘Ciao’ moped that had been stolen 23 years ago.
The other day, while the carabinieri were carrying out a check of the territory in the Carlantino area (Foggia), they noticed a man riding an old moped. They stopped him for a checkup and the man told them it was a “bicycle”. At that point the carabinieri wanted to see clearly. Comparing the chassis number with police databases, they discovered that the fifty Piaggio had been stolen in Salerno back in 1998. They then immediately contacted the owner of the moped. The latter, still incredulous, went to the town of Foggiano to take back his scooter. (HANDLE).
