The traffic police will oppose the sale of alcohol to minors. Fight in the wild park, Sunday checks on the big screen

BELLUNO. Degradation in the historic center: the Prefecture deploys the local police. To combat the episodes of damage and injuries due to harassing drunkenness or drug use, the provincial committee for public order and safety has decided to deploy traffic police as early as next weekend, at least until 10pm.

While the locals are organizing themselves with private security, a deterrent against incivility episodes such as those that have occurred in recent times may be the presence of agents.

They will also deal with compliance with the prohibitions on the sale and administration of alcohol to minors and to people who are already visibly tipsy, irregular stops everywhere and observance of the rules established by the laws of the State and by the urban police regulations. In short, if needed, there will be fines or complaints. Naturally, the police and carabinieri will also continue to do their job and will have the task of guaranteeing security from 10pm onwards, during the night.

In the last meeting with the prefect Mariano Savastano, it emerged that the latest episodes – beatings and damage first in Piazza dei Martiri and then in Piazza delle Erbe – are attributable to individuals and not organized groups. There is no doubt that there are companies that are just waiting for the right moment to break their noses, but in the latest cases from the Criminal Code they would have nothing to do with it.

The next deadline is the upcoming weekend. Especially on Sunday 11 July, when from 21 onwards there will be the final of the European Championship with Italy and, at Lambioi beach, a large screen will be mounted, by the Municipality and the Italian cinema. The anti-Covid rules will remain valid, consequently no gatherings and masks within reach of the respiratory tract.

If then the emergency were to continue, Mayor Jacopo Massaro confirmed his intention to upgrade the urban video surveillance system. The project is under construction and, once completed, will be examined by the Safety Committee.
