UDINE. Two thirds of citizens residing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, since the beginning of the campaign dated 27 December, have completed their vaccination cycle, with two doses or the only one in the case of Johnson & Johnson. Meanwhile, yesterday, as regards the progress of the pandemic, there were 102 other infections and one death.
Quote 800 thousand
The data in Friuli Venezia Giulia are improving, although not at the speed desired by the top management of the regional administration and the Health Department. Based on the progress of the campaign updated daily by the Government, in fact, Thursday 16 September went to the archive with 177 new first doses and 3 thousand 25 recalls.
The important figure, among these, is the second because it has allowed the Region to reach 800,000 people who have completed the complete vaccination cycle equal to 66.7% of residents and 73.5% of those over 12. For the former doses, on the other hand, the total rises to 822 thousand – with therefore 4.6% of citizens awaiting the recall – corresponding to 68.6% of those living in Friuli Venezia Giulia and 75.6% of the vaccinable population. “The ideal would be to reach at least 900 thousand people” says the councilor for health Riccardo Riccardi, recalling what had already been indicated, in the recent past, as the goal to be crossed in order to guarantee good social immunity to the region.
And also – we add – to close the gap with most of the other territories, considering how Friuli Venezia Giulia is below the national average of immunized people (68.6% with 5.6% waiting for a second dose) and has a partial clearly lower than that of the best regions of the country which, currently, are Molise (72.9% with 4.6% waiting for the recall), Lombardy (72.8% and 5.3%) and Lazio (72% and 4.2%).
Third dose from Monday
While the Region is waiting to understand the impact on new vaccine bookings from the expansion of the use of the Green pass to all sectors of work, it is worth remembering how, from Monday, about 15,000 particularly fragile citizens of Friuli Venezia Giulia will be able to book the third dose of vaccine through the Cups of the Health Authorities, the single regional call center (0434/223522), the pharmacies participating in the campaign or the webapp.
The third administration, at the moment, is reserved for solid organ transplant recipients in immunosuppressive therapy, for hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, for those who are waiting for organ transplantation, for those in T-cell based therapies, for those with oncological pathology under treatment, has primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, those on dialysis and severe chronic renal failure, those who have undergone the removal of the spleen and AIDS patients.
The day
As regards the progress of the pandemic, in the meantime, yesterday in Friuli Venezia Giulia on 4 thousand 725 molecular swabs 93 new infections were detected with a positive percentage of 1.97%. In addition, 4,000 648 rapid antigenic tests have been carried out, from which 9 cases (0.19%) were detected.
Overall, therefore, we are talking about 102 cases which, compared to 9 thousand 373 tests, draw an average positive rate of 1.1%. Furthermore, yesterday there was the death of an 87-year-old man resident in Trieste, hospitalized.
There were nine people left in intensive care, while the patients admitted to other wards were 47, down by one unit. In the regional health system, going further, the positive results of an administrative and a nurse from the Giuliano Isontina university health care company and a socio-health worker from the Friuli Centrale university health care company were detected.
No cases were detected among the guests of residential structures for the elderly in the region, while the positivity of two operators of a structure in the Trieste area was recorded. Finally, the seven-day incidence rate in the region drops significantly and reaches 55.1 per 100 thousand inhabitants, thus slightly above the quota for the white zone of 50.
