Ico valley – The Camillo innovation system participates. The sanitizing electric scooters are ready to launch

IVREA. “We were in early March, at the very beginning of the pandemic. The idea started in those days. Then the world changed ». Luciano Campagnaro, 54, an entrepreneur from Ivrea, thus begins to tell the times in which the collaboration between Camillo innovation system began – a reality based on the sixth floor of Palazzo Uffici, in the heart of Ico valley, of which he has been president since born a year ago -, and the Tuscan start-up Raybotics leader in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics. The two realities have combined their respective know-how. And today they are on the market with a startup specialized in sanitation devices certified by the Ministry of Health and totally ecological. Devices that instead of chemistry use UV-C rays (short wavelength ultraviolet light) and ozone, with a coverage of 185 and 254 meters, which can also be used in the presence of people. They are robots that are operated from smartphones or tablets and emit energy capable of breaking down the bacterial load up to 99%. They do not get dirty, nothing should be moved, “as you leave the room you enter”, summarizes Campagnaro. Raybotics put the design and construction into it, Camillo innovation system the commercial development channel with the aim of bringing employment here too, in Ivrea. Where, also in Ico valley, Raybotics is transferring part of the team of engineers involved in the design phase. After all, Camillo innovation system, whose name says a lot about the attachment to the history of this place, includes another Canavese, and it is the vice president Claudia Peroni, 56, previous administrative experience, while the general management is entrusted to a Turin, Franco Spina, 54, from Avigliana. All three linked “by a deep bond of friendship even before becoming colleagues”.

Campagnaro explains: «Our Ph devices (acronym which stands for Pro health system) use UV-C rays generated by low pressure mercury vapor discharge lamps. Combined with the ozone generated by the oxygen present in the air, the energy passes through the cell walls of bacteria, bacterial spores and viruses, damaging their structure and preventing their multiplication ». Three models have already been launched on the market: one for small spaces, a second suitable for medium-sized surfaces mounted on a manual trolley, a third on a mobile robot designed to be used in large spaces. Clients include the Pontifical Theological Faculty Teresianum of Rome, the 11 Municipalities of the Unité Grand Paradis, the Municipalities of Romano, Vische, Cambiano and San Damiano Macra, plus various companies, facilitated by the tax credit, which for the Piedmont Region is at 50%, which can be used from the following month of the purchase invoice.

Ready for launch are other sanitizers for keyboards and touch screen displays such as ATMs, cash registers and vending machines, as well as sanitizing lamps for the food sector created for cold rooms and suitable for the catering sector. And finally the self-sanitizing electric scooter with recharging times reduced to zero. This latter system was developed by Meccatronica Sicilia that Campagnaro would like to be able to «have it produced here, in Canavese, having excellent companies ready to share the idea».

Regarding the choice of the name, Camillo innovation system, it is Campagnaro again who says: “We in Ivrea feel a little connected to Camillo Olivetti – he explains – either out of gratitude, vocation or pride, we all have had parents, relatives, friends, brothers who, in some way, have benefited from the altruism and far-sightedness of this family ». Thus, “aided by the authority of this name, we decided to become part of the Ico valley project, because we consider it a unique opportunity for young people and for our territory”. And then “because we believe in the program to enhance this industrial heritage, the managerial, human and social culture of Olivetti, because we believe that all this can become a point of reference for the Italian excellence of small and medium-sized enterprises and artisans, because we believe in that high-level training program of the Digital Academy and the close collaboration with the Polytechnic and the University of Turin. And here we are, then. In the Italian IT temple of the 70s-80s ». –
