The squeeze decided in autonomy

From Monday 6 December (date of entry into force of the Super Green pass on the whole national territory) South Tyrol is in the yellow zone. In the autonomous province of Bolzano, the tightening had already been anticipated in recent days by an order of President Arno Kompatscher, who introduced the obligation to wear an outdoor mask and an Ffp2 protective device on public transport, as well as the closure of discos. Discos that according to national legislation (the new decree 172/2021) will be reopened, even if only to holders of “reinforced” green pass (vaccinated or cured by Covid).

Vaccinations restarted, but Alto Adige remains penultimate

In recent days, the vaccination campaign in South Tyrol has finally taken off, with long queues in front of the hubs, especially for boosters, but also for the first doses. It seems that the undecided and the waiters are convincing themselves. The number of doses administered last week increased by about 60% compared to the previous one (31,334 versus 19,594). A similar picture also emerges for the first doses administered, which went from 2,639 last week to 4,016 of the current one. For the campaign “Alto Adige gets vaccinated”, scheduled from Friday to Sunday, 18 thousand bookings have so far arrived, even if it is mainly about boosters. And the autonomous province of Bolzano remains in the penultimate place in Italy for vaccination rate (only Sicily is worse), with 79.1% of immunized over 12s (compared to an Italian average of 84.8%).

Sprint of vaccinations in Trentino

Better situation in terms of vaccinations in neighboring Trentino. Here the vaccinated over 12 are 85.8% of the population. But there is still an atmosphere of uncertainty over the ski season. «We have registered a good influx for the Immaculate Conception – explains Roberto Failoni, councilor for trade, sport and tourism of the autonomous province of Trento – but reservations for the Christmas holidays are marking time. With the increase in infections, a climate of prudence and expectation prevails. Therefore we have decided to push the accelerator on vaccinations, with a marathon scheduled from 4 to 8 December during which we aim for 100 thousand administrations “.
