PORDENONE. The strong wind and heavy rain lasted less than an hour, but enough to knock down trees on the streets, knock down old public lighting poles, flood basements, require non-stop work from the provincial firefighters.
At 8 pm on Tuesday 27 July, about ten interventions had already been carried out and continued until late at night. The work of the civil protection volunteers of Pordenone and Porcia and of the Red Cross is also fundamental.
Wounded
A man residing in via Villanova tried to climb over the gate of the house – he had closed himself out – when the rain became intense. In doing so, however, he fell and got stuck injuring his arm. It was necessary to call the ambulance that took him to the Pordenone hospital in yellow code.
Also during the peak of rainfall there was a road collision between via Pola and via Cappuccini, fortunately without serious injuries.
The church
In the evening a call also came from the Pordenone hospital because the wind has uncovered part of the roof of the former church, where the health cards are issued. The water wet papers and some instruments, without particular damage.
On the car
A tree, in another municipality, fell on a car luckily without people on board. The tree was on public land and next to a kindergarten.

Many trees have fallen on the streets: in the city in via Fontane and via Caboto, in Porcia in via Bagnador, in via Castello and in via Sant’Agnese, in Zoppola, in Roveredo in via Pionieri dell’Aria, in Sedrano di San Quirino and in many other places.
Floods and blackouts
In Cordenons, in via San Quirino, a tree fell on the wires of the power line bringing them to the ground. In addition to the firefighters, Enel was activated to restore the line.
