Infineon: Price jump is not enough page 1

Surprisingly strong demand from China has made ASMI the largest European beneficiary in the technology sector, with a corresponding jump in profits in the past quarter, but the gross margin has also visibly improved. Infineon’s stock, on the other hand, is still stuck in a downward trend that has existed since mid-December and has lost around 25 percent of its value and only hit a supposedly sustainable bottom at around 30.00 euros. However, today’s price jump to a temporary EUR 32.50 is not the result of a well-prepared trend reversal on the part of the bulls, but rather is a glimmer of hope due to better business from investors. Much greater effort is required to turn things around at Infineon.
