Hong Kong media quoted sources as saying that the Academy of Social Sciences is only a temporary transition institution for Shi Taifeng.

According to the “Academy Leadership” column on the website of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on May 1, Shi Taifeng, the former secretary of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the Communist Party of China, has replaced Xie Fuzhan as the president and secretary of the Party group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
