First hypothesis: family with two children. Two incomes, a total of 45 thousand euros. A saving – or how much less will pay for income tax in 2022 compared to 2021 – of 300 euro for the whole family (150 per person for each parent). Second hypothesis: family with one child, only one income: 30 thousand euros a year. Personal income tax savings: 300 EUR. Third hypothesis: single with an income of 20 thousand euros. The savings, in this case, are hundred euro.
The four personal income tax rates
These are some simulations carried out by the Foundation for Labor Consultants Studies to understand how much you should save with the Irpef restyling, which focuses on a new progression and the passage from 5 to 4 rates: 23% up to 15 thousand, as now, 25% up to 28 thousand, 35% up to 50 thousand and 43% for higher incomes. After three meetings at the Mef, the political forces of the large majority that supports the Draghi executive have in fact found a political agreement on the four rates. The dossier on how to use the eight billion provided by the budget bill to reduce the tax burden is expected on Friday 3 December on the table of the Council of Ministers.
The criticisms of Confindustria and trade unions
The agreement, which was criticized by both Confidustria and the unions, with the employers’ association highlighting the need to concentrate resources on the tax wedge and incentives for young people and women and CGIL, Cisl and Uil to talk about poor attention to the lowest incomes – should be formalized in an amendment to the Budget Law, currently being examined by the Senate.
Pressing in the majority to change the agreement
The conditional is, however, a must: the Democratic Party has asked to reopen the dialogue with the trade unions, after the last meeting with the Minister of the Economy Franco which revealed a fairly substantial distance between the parties. Forza Italia has raised for a cut of the Irap. Flat tax over 100 thousand euros is the workhorse of the League.
