(ANSAmed) – TEL AVIV, MAY 11 – Night of fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. From the Strip, according to the military spokesman, over 250 rockets were launched yesterday towards the Jewish state. The launches continued this morning as well, with an attack on Ashkelon. The Israeli air force hit 130 military targets in Gaza. Palestinian sources report that at least 20 have been killed and dozens of injured. Incidents between Palestinian demonstrators and the Israeli police occurred in East Jerusalem. Protests also in Arab places in Israel.

The fighting that began yesterday between Hamas and Israel has been called ‘Operation Guardian of the Walls’ by the Israeli army. Local media reports according to which the military leaders assume it will continue for several days. In Gaza, Palestinian militias have set up a common room of operations. In their media, the rocket launches towards Israel are called ‘Operation Jerusalem Sword’. In a video released on the web, the Hamas military wing said: ‘Jerusalem called, Gaza answered’. (ANSAmed).
