Italvolt, agreement with Aecom to optimize the project

SCARMAGNO. It is the largest investment planned in the area and beyond, a project capable of changing the face of the Canavese area in terms of production and employment. Let’s talk about the gigafactory for the production of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. On the basis of the memorandum of understanding signed a few days ago, Italvolt undertook to present the final project of the gigafactory by the summer and the local authority system to examine and respond to the authorizations within seven months. Meanwhile, Italvolt has announced a new partnership: with Aecom, a global consultancy firm for industrial infrastructures. Under the terms of the agreement, Aecom will provide a series of professional services aimed at optimizing operational processes throughout the project life cycle. When fully operational, Italvolt’s gigafactory will be the largest in Europe, with a production capacity of 45 GWh, for a total investment of approximately 3.4 billion euros. Specifically, Aecom will be in charge of optimizing the production process within Italvolt’s gigafactory, ensuring that the production of lithium-ion cells is as fluid and resilient as possible, minimizing waste during production. Aecom will also support Italvolt in identifying best practices in the authorization processes related to the gigafactory and will provide services related to the management and optimization of the project, including the definition of a complete package of procurement policies that reflect Italvolt’s commitment to be a better company in its segment in terms of environmental, social and governance impact.
