Ivrea, accommodation is on fire in Piazza Pistoni, the woman and her guide dog save

by admin

The owner was saved because she went out shopping and the dog prevented her from entering the house

IVREA. Friday 28, at about 12, in Piazza Pistoni in Ivrea, above the pizzeria, a part of an apartment was on fire. The causes of the flames are yet to be ascertained.

A 70-year-old woman, visually impaired and residing in one of the apartments of the building overlooking Piazza Pistoni, was preparing to return home accompanied by her guide dog, a Labrador, but the latter, noticing the fire, did not allowed to do so because the interested part was precisely that of the entrance.

At that point, not understanding what was happening, the woman alerted the neighbors who immediately gave the alarm. The first to rush to the scene was a patrol of the Municipal Police followed by a team of Fire Brigade from Ivrea. The speed with which rescuers were able to reach the accommodation prevented the flames from spreading further to other rooms and neighboring homes.

The woman, in shock and unable to understand why she could not return to her home, was reassured by the agents. No one had noticed what was happening and being out shopping allowed her to save herself. The house will remain unusable and the woman has been joined by relatives.
