Ivrea, more and more waste: the landfill effect is triggered in the Naviglio and along the canals

by admin

A month ago the first reports. In some places the waste thrown away increased. Citizens’ reports and indignation are growing: “A shame”

IVREA. Sunday, first day of spring, a walk along the dry canal full of waste. The issue was raised more than a month ago, when the channel went dry. And raised several times, with several reports from citizens and the appeal for cleaning also by the director of Caritas, Emiliano Ricci.

And about a month after the first inspection after the reports of some citizens, it immediately catches the eye that in some points the quantity and type of waste have changed. In some places a sort of “landfill effect” has been generated. It is easy to notice: a box of garbage is dry and clean, as are car seats whose conditions indicate that they have never been touched by water.

Ivrea, the canal between San Giovanni and Torre Balfredo is getting worse: it is a landfill

Some iron waste, however, has disappeared. Where previously three bicycles were noticed, for example, now only two remain immersed in the mud. A few tens of meters and here are some bones of large animals, then two slot machines, a couple of cash registers, an electronic scale, a vacuum cleaner, several washing machines and an unlikely amount of tires, as well as a toilet, sinks, a bed children’s camping, plastic baskets, bags, tubes of all kinds and pieces of car carcasses. The indignation runs on social media and beyond. So far, however, the waste has not been removed. –
