On Tuesday morning, a 32-year-old woman approached an old woman in via Cascinette and, after asking her if she remembered her, took her hands “friendly”. Never, like this time, the friendly must be put in quotation marks.
The old woman replied that she did not know her and tried to push her away, but with a lightning-fast move, the 32-year-old took off her wristwatch and quickly climbed aboard a car parked on the sidewalk.
The vehicle left at high speed, in the meantime the old woman called the police station providing a precise description of the woman who just robbed her and her accomplice driver. A patrol of the Guardia di Finanza in transit set off in pursuit of the car, which stopped in a private courtyard in Corso Vercelli. The driver fled while the woman was stopped and taken to the offices of the Ivrea and Banchette police station.
During the investigations, the operators searched the seized vehicle, discovering a series of compartments specially created in the passenger compartment to conceal the stolen goods. Some gold jewelry was found, including the watch stolen from the victim, and the dress worn by the 32-year-old during the theft. The woman was arrested for theft.
