It was a long and harsh discussion that saw majority and minority opposing in the city council. The motion presented by the group leaders of the Lega and mixed group, Anna Bono e Maria Piras, later also signed by other exponents of the center right, asked for a new president because according to the regulation that figure belonged to a foreign citizen. “Colossus does not meet the required requirements – explained Bono – and it is necessary to remedy the embarrassing situation created in relation to foreign citizens of our community”. Not only that, Bono reproaches the current presidency for not having yet sent the annual report on the initiatives activated to the city council (report that Colossus then delivered to the mayor on Wednesday evening).
«We have all made a mistake – urged the councilor Piras – by electing Colossus as president of the Consulta, which does not have the requisites to do so. We apologize, but this does not mean that this situation cannot be remedied. On our part, there is no polemical intent and in our motion no judgments are expressed on the work done to date by Colossus. We only ask to remedy an irregularity ». Concepts reaffirmed also by the mayor Stefano Sertoli: “We all know that Colossus was elected so as not to blow up the Consulta, and we are grateful for this, but now after a year and a half from that election it is possible to go back to that choice and respect the regulations”.
A version of the facts, however, denied by the Colossus itself. “Unfortunately, there was no one inside the Council who felt ready to play the role of president – he explained in the classroom Gabriella Colosso -.
