ivrea
And if the missed party at Panigaccio 2.0 was somehow connected to the dehors smashed into piazza Ottinetti? This is what the agents of the Ivrea and Banchette police station are asking themselves, led by the new deputy commissioner Clemente Palopoli.
The concentration of people on Saturday night, in fact, was unusual for the city center of Ivrea. A hundred boys in the square who, however, occupy a small portion of a place that is used to very different glories during carnival evenings.
There are still no certain connections between the two events, but it is a hypothesis that is being seriously considered. That the boys have partly poured into other clubs and then into the city center, that evening, is undisputed. It remains to be determined whether any of them has also been furious against the dehors.
The owners of the damaged goods will report to the police station in the coming days. What is certain is that Saturday’s good night started with a ball and the shop shutters have become football goals. But it was not at that juncture that tables, chairs and flower boxes were broken and scattered around the square. Probably later, after midnight, when a police car intervened. At that moment, however, the revelry was controlled and did not degenerate. So the steering wheel went away.
Later, however, between midnight and half past one, a handful of those boys huddled more around the tables and in the chaos they must have smashed them. In the morning, chairs were also scattered throughout the square. The screams went on until late at night and forced some businesses to close early. It is difficult, however, that whoever committed the actions, if a vandal will is recognized, will get away with it. The cameras of the city video surveillance circuit framed the scene. The cops are sifting through the images from top to bottom and have already managed to narrow down the most important moments of the evening. The comings and goings and the concentration of people played a fundamental role.
