The idea born from the collaboration between Elena Mirandola and the Tre Torri pastry shop: “Symbol of female rebirth”

IVREA. The period characterized by the pandemic was not an easy period, but, for those who did not let themselves be discouraged and tried new paths, unusual and interesting collaborations were launched that have fortunately borne fruit appreciated and requested. This is the case of Elena Mirandola, a well-known artist in the city and of her recent collaboration with the Tre Torri pastry shop, in via Torino 185, in San Grato.

«It all started – says Elena Mirandola – with the visit of Marzia Defacis, owner together with Andrea Lotorto, of the pastry shop in my atelier, in Canton Silvestro 5, in Pavone. Marzia fell in love with the metal cups reminiscent of the breakfasts of the past, printed with my illustrations and, on impulse, we decided to collaborate The idea has materialized with the upcoming Mother’s Day, which will be next Sunday 9: create a design to print on the mug to match a bag of artisanal biscuits. The result is the special cup designed especially for Supermamms, on which the mother is represented as a superheroine who faces the various everyday difficulties head on. In one word: Supermà ».

Cups and biscuits can be purchased at the Tre Torri pastry shop or at Elena’s atelier (by appointment: www.elenamirandola.com) which is always worth a visit to learn about her art or discover its evolution. In addition to the Supermà cups, also those with the artist’s characteristic themes: flowering cacti, smiling cats and hearts with intense colors together. “Even Marzia Defacis, who personally created, together with the excellent pastry chef Andrea Lotorto, the exquisite artisan biscuits combined with the cups – underlines Elena Mirandola – is a person who, like me, believes very much in her work and is always available to welcome new ideas and to experiment with new paths. The pandemic also dealt a severe blow to her, forcing her to suspend, between lockdowns and red zones, those rituals so pleasing to customers that, in the morning, for breakfast time, they found the special croissants and delicious slices of cake waiting for them. and that, at noon as in the late afternoon, they had the right place in the restaurant to stop and have an aperitif accompanied by tasty pretzels prepared the same day in the pastry shop ». Not to mention the production of pastries and cakes made to measure for every occasion or event. «Even for the artists it was not easy – continues Elena Mirandola -. The prohibition to move and the fear of contagions have drastically reduced visits to the atelier and the possibility of setting up exhibitions. Fortunately, we are both slowly returning to the usual rhythms and I am grateful not only for the effective synergy established between us, but also because she and Andrea are hosting, inside and in the windows of their pastry shop, a small exhibition of my works. . I like to consider this Supermà cup and the biscuits paired with it, as a auspicious symbol of female rebirth, after all that has shocked the world and, consequently, our little Ivrea-based reality, in this last year and a half ».
