Plants selected.

It is understood that the Red List is a measure of the extinction or threat level of species, and an important basis for the protection of rare and endangered species. The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment compiled the above-mentioned list for the first time on the basis of the background survey of the biodiversity in the county areas of the province, including 20 species at level I and 64 species at level II.

According to reports, in order to improve the accuracy of biodiversity protection work, Jiangsu has also released the “Jiangsu Province Ecological Environment Quality Indicator Species List (First Batch)” and “Jiangsu Province Invasive Alien Species List (First Batch)”. Experts pointed out that research on indicator organisms can help to judge the impact of human-induced environmental pressure or disturbance on biological systems; identifying invasive alien species can strictly prevent them from causing threats or harm to local ecosystems, species and habitats.
