On the reform of the criminal process «in a few days we will understand if our requests have been accepted or not. It is clear that a prospect of trust in the reform without some changes would be difficult for us ”, comments the political leader in pectore of the Movement, Giuseppe Conte, before meeting the Grillini deputies of the parliamentary commissions. And he reiterates that on the Cartabia reform there is a “constructive confrontation with Draghi, but I have made it clear that the proposal as originally formulated poses very serious problems to the Movement”.

“There is very limited room for maneuver on the reform of justice. But I am exploiting them all and I am doing my best – assures the former premier – I am asking for a series of interventions, aware that the majority is very large and expresses very different sensibilities. But we have drawn lines and fixed points, together with a technical work team, starting with the crimes of the mafia, terrorism and corruption ».

Then, speaking of the Movement, he explains: «When I spoke of strong leadership it was not for a personal interest but for the good of the M5S. There is a need for clear and strong leadership to speak with the government and obtain results ”. “The activity for the refoundation of the M5S is full-time, also for this reason I did not run for a seat”, he explains also remarking how the “training school is crucial in the new course”, ensuring that “there will be periodic meetings with you of the various parliamentary committees.
