La Biella-Oropa is back in a summer version with edition number 46

The 46th edition of the Biella-Oropa returns to its summer location. After the autumn parenthesis of last season, today’s race already has 320 members, but others can be added considering that from 15 to 16.45 it will be possible to register directly at the secretariat, in via Lamarmora in Biella, in front of the Atl. The organization is organized by Biella Sport Promotion in collaboration with the Amici Corsa Pettinengo Group.

Among the favorites stands out the name of Giuseppe Molteni, several times on the podium in recent years. From a local perspective Fabio Bosio of Atletica Santhià, Roberto Di Pasquali and Lorenzo Gardini (Climb Runners) and Matteo Biolcati (Pietro Micca Biella Running) can aim high. Waiting to understand if there will be top runners who, as usual, will wait for the last hour to register.

In the women’s field, the Turin-based Sarah Aimee L’Epee, fresh winner of the Due Santuari Running, returns to Biella. For a place on the podium many other athletes such as Francesca Rimonda, Federica Laino, Elisa Almondo. Among the Biellese there will be Ludovica Boetto, in preparation for the European Spartan Race in September.

At 5 pm the first wave of athletes will start, that is all women and men over 60; at 5.30 pm, however, all the men up to category M55 will be present in the second start.

The route will be the consolidated one starting from via La Marmora and arriving at the gates of the square of the Sanctuary of Oropa, after 12 km and 200 meters, with a difference in height of about 740 in which the Favaro salitone stands out, where you can also touch a slope of the 13%. All athletes will have to run the first 500 meters with the mask, keeping it to be able to reuse it after crossing the finish line. The records on the new course are those signed by the winners of the last edition: Emily Collinge in 50’59 and Omar Bouamer with a time of 47’46 ”.
