The six irregular workers, all foreigners, were employed in the orange harvest
Grammichele (Catania) – The Carabinieri of the local station, assisted by colleagues from the NIL of Catania, in the context of a coordinated service aimed at combating forms of undeclared work and the phenomenon of illegal hiring, controlled a cooperative company with registered office in Grammichele which employed 6 foreign workers, four Bangladeshi and two Tunisians, legal in Italy but not regularly employed, for the orange harvest.
The carabinieri have raised a maxi penalty to the owner of the company for having employed illegal labor for a total amount of 21,600 euros. In this circumstance, social security and welfare contributions for 6,000 euros were recovered.
