Letter from Tiziano Renzi to his son Matteo: “Bianchi, Bonifazi and Boschi Banda Bassotti, have profited from you”

«In recent years I have had the clear perception, the certainty, of being considered an obstacle and in any case a nuisance. As you know, the only interviews were seasoned with reproaches and preventive mistrust ». It can be read in a passage of the text seized in October 2019 by the financial police in a PC of Tiziano Renzi. The paper, a letter, ended up in the proceedings for fraudulent bankruptcy and the issuance of false invoices that sees the father of the former premier Matteo Renzi and his mother Laura Bovoli as defendants, a proceeding born from the investigation into the bankruptcies of some service cooperatives leaflets of which the couple would have been de facto administrator for the power of attorney.

“The letter from Mr. Tiziano Renzi to his son senator”

According to an instance of the defense of Tiziano Renzi, in which it was asked to consider it unusable – and which was rejected by the Court – the document would be “a letter from Mr. Tiziano Renzi to his son senator”. It would go back to the first days of March 2017. The father seems to address his son with regret and consternation, in a kind of release. The drafter accuses Renzi jr. not to take him into consideration and complains about the legal troubles he is going through.

“Banda Bassotti Bianchi, Bonifazi and Boschi”

In the text, which is not clear whether it was ever delivered to the leader of Italy alive Matteo Renzi, there is no shortage of thrusts to the loyalists of the former premier: “Carrai – we read in the text attributed to Tiziano Renzi – must never again be seen by me, a false man ”, then we can still read of a“ gang Bassotti Bianchi, Bonifazi and Boschi ”who“ profited without restraint from the position of your acolytes and I was the one who passed for a thief ”. «Now you have immunity – we read again -, there is no longer the risk that they will reach you through me. I hope that a new season of struggle for the values that have animated our life begins ”.

“Retired? The good God sends me there and not you “

“Regarding your wish that he retire – we read in another passage – I must strongly affirm that the good Lord sends me not you in retirement”. “This story – Tiziano Renzi would say, believed to be the author of the letter – has deprived me of my ability to relate. All those who have had intercourse with me have been paid attention only for this fact ». «I am – he adds – like King Midas of m .., I fertilize everyone, they are questioning everyone».

The denied request to get the text out of the process

The court rejected an objection by Tiziano Renzi’s defense according to which the document was seized in violation of the rules on the seizure of correspondence and the guarantees of parliamentarians. According to the court, the rules for seizures of correspondence would not be applicable to the text but “the ordinary rules on seizure, with reference to letters or folders not yet sent by the sender to the addressee or already received by the latter, since such objects do not they constitute correspondence, implying this notion a shipping activity in progress “. The defense attempted to get the letter out of the trial file of the ongoing trial for bankruptcy relating to advertising service cooperatives. But the court said no so the parties can ask to discuss it with defendants and witnesses during the trial.
