UDINE. They were nicknamed “the Kessler of Udine”. Enza left us five years ago. Lia Pilosio, 86, left on Friday. From the end of January she was hospitalized at Santa Maria Della Misericordia, then transferred to the Quiete.

Lia nourished the hope of going home until the end, unfortunately she had to surrender to the disease that had struck her only two months ago and, in the solitude common to so many people in this period, she is gone.

During those long days of hospitalization she had always remained in telephone contact with Gianni, her trusted hairdresser and Giovanna, her closest friends who have always been close to her since she was left alone in her apartment that she had shared with her beloved sister Enza. .

Lia was a reserved person, but unselfish, very helpful and ready to joke, with a young mentality, open to news, her company was pleasant. This affability also stemmed from the fact that for 40 years she had been the historical contractor of the Trangoni housewares shop for which she knew all of Udine and Udine was her family.

For many years he had done voluntary work at La Quiete, helping the elderly at mealtimes. The death of her sister Enza had been a severe blow: they lived in symbiosis.

From that day on, their home was no longer the same. The area of the study center behind their house also seemed much sadder: the young students could no longer make her smile.

Among the passions of Lia Pilosio was art. He loved attending the exhibitions of the Udine galleries. And then there was singing: when Enza was alive, in 2016, they had participated in a competition organized by Radio Birichina.

Everyone in the city knew the Pilosio sisters, sisters but not twins despite the fact that they always went dressed the same with bright colors, accessories that were also very colorful, matching lipstick and nail polish.

Lia and Enza were then appreciated for the smile, friendliness and positivity they were able to convey: they had a kind word for everyone. Since Enza’s disappearance, as we said, Lia had died out a bit. She missed their walks always arm in arm along the streets of the center.

“I’m sorry that these emblematic figures that I remember fondly are no longer there,” says the mayor Pietro Fontanini. People to be imitated in their way of dealing with young people and citizens, always marked by serenity and optimism.

In this period their kindness and their smile are a memory, an example and a spur to help us overcome the pessimism that unfortunately is rampant in the moment in which we are living “.

The date and time of the last farewell to Lia Pilosio have not yet been defined.
