LIGNANO. Covid free for about a month and a half, Lignano Sabbiadoro is also at the service of the mass vaccination campaign. From today, Tuesday 22 June, the vaccination hub set up inside the municipal gym in viale Europa (adjacent to the Teghil stadium) is operational. Between Lignanesi and tour operators, today around 450 people have been injected with the first dose of Pfizer, while tomorrow will be the turn of another 210 users. Given that the doses planned for the first two-days of inoculations were, in total, a thousand, there are still places available for tomorrow. The days for the recall have already been marked on the agenda in Lignano: the appointment is for 15 and 16 July.
Triage, medical history, registration and booking of the second dose and then off to the vaccination boxes (there are seven in total) for the injection: the first test morning of the course was a success thanks to the organization and commitment of the health workers and volunteers. In fact, around twenty doctors, nurses and health assistants from the Prevention Department are employed in the Lignano gymnasium, coordinated by Silvana Buzancic and Gianni Borghi. And, moreover, to ensure the regular outflow of users there are, in support, dozens of volunteers of the civil protection and the carabinieri on leave.
“Come to Lignano because it is a safe city” is this, according to the mayor Luca Fanotto who hopes that vaccinations will soon be open to all tourists from outside the region, the clear message that the seaside resort launches with this “important initiative – underlines the mayor – desired by the administration and which has seen a rapid response from the Region. Within the tourist offer, the need to guarantee a quality and safety health service with respect to the spread of Covid has become an essential element “.
