On December 18, 1934, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting here. Bogu and others still insisted on joining the Red Second and Sixth Army in western Hunan, while Mao Zedong and others advocated marching to the weaker enemy force in northern Guizhou. The meeting was held from day to night, the lanterns went off and on again, Mao Zedong’s correct opinions were finally adopted, and the Red Army avoided the danger of possible destruction.
In the memorial hall of the Zunyi Conference Site, a bronze-colored table is a “witness” of the key step in the turn of events.
From January 15 to 17, 1935, the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee held an enlarged meeting here. Revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong surrounded this table to end the “Left” dogmatism error in the central government and correct the course of the revolution.
From the Long March of the Central Red Army to the meeting of the three main forces, more than 70 important meetings have been held and a series of major strategic decisions have been made.
